People looking to sell e-learning courses online may be interested to hear that people in the US conducted 16.4 billion searches on the internet in June, an increase of three per cent from May, new figures show.
Some 10.3 billion searches, up one per cent, were conducted on Google, according to statistics published by comScore, Inc, which revealed the search giant accounted for 62.6 per cent of the market share.
People searching for ecommerce software for Moodle or payment processing for e-learning may have helped Yahoo! achieve second place with 3.1 billion, followed by Microsoft, Ask and AOL.
The continued utilisation of contextual search techniques that combine content and related search results helped both Yahoo! and Microsoft to record gains during the month, the company revealed.
Increasing adoption and use of the internet, brought about by wider access, could be beneficial to those selling e-learning courses online as it presents opportunities for people to pursue distance learning.
