i) Discount based upon order value
In this example, buy 11 of http://instructionaldesign.co.uk/shop/catalog.php?item=1 (Moodle) or http://dokeos.coursemerchant.com/cm/catalog.php?item=1 (Dokeos). Both are priced over $2,000. We have set a discount of 10% on all purchases over $20,000 - so buying 11 seats on this course allows the discount to come into effect. We could optionally create tiered discounting - i.e. increasing levels of discount depending upon values purchased (or number of courses purchased).
ii) Discount based upon Group Membership
We can set up groups of user types in Course Merchant and enable a discount for them. For example, we have created a group in Course Merchant called 'Pilot Students' to mimic a pilot course scenario. Buying from www.instructionaldesign.co.uk or http://dokeos.coursemerchant.com/cm/ normally would not give a discount. However, Course Merchant can generate a special access url for each group - preconfigured with a discount level. Try buying a course using this link: http://instructionaldesign.co.uk/shop?code=pilot_students (Moodle) or http://dokeos.coursemerchant.com/cm?code=pilot_students (Dokeos) You'll notice it offers an immediate 50% discount.
iii) Discount Vouchers/Coupons
We can also enable the use of coupons/vouchers for a set discount percentage or amount.
iv) Purchase a Combination Course
This is a product that allows you to purchase access to more than one course with a single transaction. This is useful for creating bundles or batches of courses/modules for sale - either as part of a larger programme or perhaps for special discounting. Buy one at http://instructionaldesign.co.uk/shop/catalog.php?item=4 (Moodle) or http://dokeos.coursemerchant.com/cm/catalog.php?item=2 (Dokeos).
v) Storeadmin Access
